Play Safe weekend is back, taking place on September 27th - 28th.
This year, we’re asking adults in football to give young people a voice. To create open conversations, ask questions, and actively listen to children.
Play Safe weekend invites people involved in football at every level to come together and promote the importance of safeguarding the game we all love.
Anyone’s love of football can be taken away by negative behaviour and abuse. Safeguarding prevents this from happening. A Play Safe weekend at the start of each season is there to put safeguarding at the forefront of people’s minds. It reminds everyone to watch, listen, talk, act in every football environment.
The FA also have a Safeguarding Awareness for Parents & Carers training course, which helps parents make an informed choice about the football setting they enrol their children in. This is free to do, takes between 25-30 minutes and can be accessed here:

This short safeguarding for parents course is designed to help you to make an informed choice about the football setting you enrol your child in. It starts by explaining the importance of safeguarding in football and the child-centred approach the game takes.
