Liphook United Football Club ban the use of micro shin pads

Katharine Helps8 Sep 2024 - 21:29

Micro shin pads banned from the start of the 2024/25 season.

It was proposed and unanimously decided at our last Manager's Meeting that LUFC ban the use of micro shin pads from the start of the 2024/25 season. This is in order to safeguard and protect our youth members and is in line with many other grassroots clubs up and down the country.

Whilst there isn't a national ban at present, the FA states that:
“Micro” or “Mini” shin pads may increase the risk of injury due to the smaller amount of shin covered compared to larger sized shin pads.

**Please remember that there is a shin pad and boot swap in the LUFC Clubhouse, which is free to our members and may help with the new season.**

We hope you all have an enjoyable and safe season. Please reach out to you team Official or Committee Member with any questions or concerns.
